2015 Rosé de Saignée

Napa Valley 750ml

Every year we produce a tiny amount of rosé. It is a labor of love. The saignée method in which we make this wine is the practice of removing some of the juice from the just-crushed grape must in order to more deeply concentrate the phenolics, colour and flavor of another red wine (in this case that would be the 2015 Merlot, which is so much the better for having been bled). The 2015 Rosé de Saignée is 100% Merlot fermented and aged eight months in a neutral American oak barrel. Typical of our style, this rosé is robust with strawberry, lilac, and subtle citrus notes. 2013 Sauvignon Blanc

St. Helena, Napa Valley 750ml

There’s something about Sauvignon Blanc that no other wine can match. With a translucent, pale gold color, this single vineyard wine from Handley ranch just north of the town of St. Helena was fermented in a combination of once-used, twice-used, and neutral French oak barrels and aged eight months in oak. Softly integrated flavors of acacia, hycainth, lemon, and vanilla bean emerge from the glass. On the palate the wine is full, striking but taut. We love the balance that we find in Sauvignon Blanc from this part of the valley: full and ripe flavors of peach with citrus on the finish.

2013 Chardonnay

Carneros, Napa Valley 750ml

Produced from sustainably farmed grapes grown at Fire Tree Vineyard in the southern-most area of Napa Valley. The 2013 vintage was a wonderfully long and balanced growing season, and our Chardonnay was picked by hand, at dawn, on the morning of September 23. The grapes were whole-cluster pressed and the juice fermented in neutral French and American barrels and aged 20 months in 20% new oak. A fruity and full-throttle Chardonnay that displays taut lemon-lime and spice on the finish. Super rich, ripe, and fleshy with notes of honeydew, melon, and pineapple.

2013 Pinot Noir

Napa Valley 750ml

In 2013 we received a call from a good friend that a small vineyard in American Canyon that he was farming had produced slightly more fruit than anticipated, and did we want to come take a look. The land had been planted to a selection of Dijon clones just east of the unfashionable portion of Highway 29, in the rugged foothills at the base of the Vaca Mountain range. The fruit produced a wonderfully ruby-red and voluptously sexy and cherry-laced wine, with subtle hints of dark cocoa, eucalyptus and pine. Finishes long with notes of orange blossom, vanilla, and spice.

2012 Merlot

Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley

The Oak Knoll District is a broad, expansive plain just north of the City of Napa, which extends modestly up the foothills of the Mayacamas and Vaca Mountains, dotted here and there by farmhouses and vineyards. The soil is generally deep clay and the vines tend to grow large and healthy. This single vineyard wine comes from Jaeger Ranch on Big Ranch Road. The fruit was manually sorted and aged thirty months in a combination of French and American oak barrels, 50% new. The wine is balanced by sweet blackberry flavors and a tart raspberry sweetness that lingers on the finish.

2012 Cabernet Sauvignon

Napa Valley, 750ml

From the corner of the Silverado Trail and Skellenger Road on the border between Rutherford and Oakville on the east side of Napa Valley. Our fruit for this Cabernet Sauvignon was grown in a deep composite gray clay soil from young vines. Manually sorted and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel for twenty-eight days. One barrel of Merlot from the Oak Knoll District was blended in (10%). The wine spent thirty months in French and American oak barrels, 60% new. We love the balance of fruit and tannin in this wine, which displays notes of blueberries, mild dried herbs, vanilla and confectioner’s sugar.

2012 Cabernet Sauvignon

Napa Valley 750ml

A single vineyard wine from George III in Rutherford, the fruit for this Cabernet Sauvignon was sorted by hand and very lightly crushed, then fermented in barrels for an average thirty-one days. A small amount of Oak Knoll Merlot (2%) and Petit Verdot (1%) was blended in for aromatic complexity, then aged thirty months in all French oak barrels, 80% new. This wine has extraordinary purity of fruit, with delightful notes of cassis, dark cocoa, and blueberry. The tannins are wonderfully soft and sweet, and the wine finishes with a touch of spice. We produced just five barrels of this wine and two were chosen for our reserve blend.

2012 Crosby’s Reserve

Cabernet Sauvignon

Napa Valley 750ml

As in every year, Crosby’s Reserve — named for our grandmother — is a barrel selection of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Each barrel ages separately for thirty months in new French oak; one-half barrel of Merlot (10%) from the Oak Knoll District  was added during maturation. The wine displays a depth of complexity, purity of fruit and concentration, with wholly absorbing and intriguing flavors of wood smoke, boysenberry, vanilla, milk chocolate, and cherry cola, with sweet tannins that finish on notes of ripe raspberry and a touch of heat.

Only available in the 6-bottle Original Wood Case (“OWC”).
